Ophthalmology Animal Research Services

Overview of Services

The PROVEO 8 F42 – Premium Ophthalmic surgical microscope with intraoperative OCT is located within the Ophthalmology Animal Research Space (OARS) in a surgical suite. OARS is an Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences-dedicated animal research space in the BRC, located in MFRC 1034 and 1035. OARS also contains multiple devices for imaging and measuring various aspects of eye anatomy and function, in multiple species of animals. The Core Ophthalmology Animal Research Services allows users within and outside of MCW to schedule use of the surgical microscope. Non-Ophthalmology users are welcome, and will contribute to the innovative use of the scope.  After a Consultation, use of the Proveo 8 is scheduled in iLab. Users can request Assisted Use or, after Training is complete, Independent Use.  The Proveo 8 is also available for Educational purposes, such as resident training.
